In order to deliver high quality intensified cities, it is critical that the right people are
working together. It will be paramount to ensure that finance, delivery, social needs
and environmental challenges are all simultanesouly and carefully considered when
delivering developments that successfully accommodate large numbers of people.
This calls for collaboration across diverse disciplines combined with political will.
It is essential that we find engagement mechanisms that will achieve a democratic
resolution of the issues. We must demonstrate not only what the key and critical
principles are and how they are applied, but also why. As a starting point we
invited a panel comprised of people representing politics, policy, development
and planning – expertise central to the effective and sensitive realisation of
intensification – to respond to the principles that emerged from the three salons.
Each panellist spoke for 5 minutes – you can listen to their talks by clicking here.
